Who We Are
Vignette Florals is a mother - daughter design team based in Berkeley, California. Our bespoke floral design emphasizes nature, craftsmanship, and collaboration.
We find inspiration everywhere, but what we always come back to is slow walks outside, delighting in little moments of pure beauty. That’s why we named our studio Vignette.
Whether we’re designing a sculptural installation or a bud vase with a single stem, we want you to find those moments of delight, awe, and inspiration in every detail we craft for you.
And one vignette at a time, we transform carefully considered details into immersive and cohesive floral environments that are tailor-made, just for you.

Founder & Creative Principal
Born and raised in a small town outside of the Black Forest in south-west Germany, Svenja grew up finding solace in the woods and meadows of our hometown.
After moving to the Bay Area with her family, the northern California Coast became a second home and an endless source of inspiration.
For more than 20 years, she has channeled her reverence for nature and her love for art and design into floral installations and arrangements that are alive with texture, movement, and care.

Co-Owner & Creative Principal
For as long as Svenja has been working with flowers, Linnea has been helping. What started with sitting in the studio after school has transformed into a multi-generational family business.
Joining Vignette as co-owner in 2023 was the culmination of 10 years spent working in art and fashion, all the while building her floral design foundation with Vignette any chance she got.
Linnea is deeply influenced by art, fashion, textiles, and the legacy of craftsmanship.
What We Do
We create carefully considered florals for weddings, events, and special projects. Whether its for a multi-day destination wedding or an intimate city hall elopement, everything we do is rooted in nature and collaboration.
That means we counsel you on seasonally appropriate materials, make recommendations based on the architecture and landscape of your venue, take into consideration the logistics and timeline of your event, and come up with unique proposals that reference all of your design elements.
But most importantly, we take the time to deeply understand your vision and needs, so that on the day of your event, our florals tell your story.
Did you know that we touch every stem that comes into our studio?
The San Francisco Flower Market is one of the best in the country, and between our vendors at the market and our local growers, we’re lucky to have access to the some of the most special and high quality blooms around. When we bring our materials back to the studio, each and every stem gets a trim and plenty of time to hydrate in a fresh bucket of water.
We strip the thorns off roses, we hammer the stems of hydrangeas so that they last longer, we take leaves off certain stems so that the blooms will take center stage, we peel the leaves off tulips and wash off the sand that gets stuck to their stems. The list goes on, but at the core of what we do is a deep respect for our materials and an endless appreciation for the people who grow them and bring them to market.
That ethos extends to all parts of our studio —we have championed foam free design for over 20 years and are constantly innovating new, reusable mechanics.
Each stem is special
Everything we do goes back to our love for nature
Whether its a bud vase, centerpiece, aisle arrangement, or bridal bouquet, our designs showcase the inherent beauty of each stem. We take great care to let our materials shine—we nestle a stunning bloom into a textured leaf so that it stands out, we find a curved stem to create an architectural line, we group a cluster of tall grasses together to spark memories of a meadow. We layer textures and colors and scale to continuously craft vignettes that capture the spirit of our materials.
A little note on the things that inspire us
Dappled sunlight on the forest floor. Visiting the local hardware store everywhere we go. Rushing through a museum only to be stopped dead in our tracks by a piece of art. Soaking up design details of yesteryear at the flea market. Weeds growing out of a crack in the sidewalk. Ferns that grow on tree branches. Abandoned buildings, overtaken by nature. The texture of an old stone, the glaze of a vintage tile, the surface of handwoven velvet. Moments where craftsmanship and beauty collide—in fashion, jewelry, architecture, books, and art. We live for travel, for new experiences, for moments of surprise and awe, for juxtaposition and contrast, and for beauty in unexpected places.
